Newborn / Maternity -Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When should I book my newborn photography session?

A: Newborn sessions are best booked during pregnancy to secure availability around your due date. Sessions are typically photographed within the first 5–14 days after birth, when babies are sleepier and easier to pose.

Q: How long does a newborn photography session take?

A: Newborn sessions usually last 2–3 hours. This allows plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and safe, baby-led posing without rushing.

Q: Is newborn photography safe?

A: Yes. I am newborn safety certified and work in a calm, controlled studio environment. All poses are done gently and safely, always prioritizing your baby’s comfort and well-being.

Q: Do you photograph older newborns or babies?

A: Yes, I do photograph older newborns and babies. Posing may be adjusted based on the baby’s age, but beautiful images are still absolutely possible. Pricing remains the same as a newborn session.

Q: Where is your studio located?

A: My studio is located in West Windsor, NJ, and I serve families throughout Central New Jersey, including Princeton, Plainsboro, South Brunswick, and Mercer County.

Q: What should parents wear for a newborn session?

A: Neutral, soft colors photograph best. Simple outfits without logos or bold patterns help keep the focus on your baby. I’m always happy to guide parents with styling tips before the session.

Q: Do you provide props and outfits?

A: Yes. All newborn sessions include access to my studio props, wraps, and outfits, carefully selected for safety, comfort, and a timeless look.

Q: Are images retouched?

A: Yes. Every final image is professionally hand-retouched, including skin smoothing, color correction, and fine detail adjustments, while keeping a natural appearance.

Q: Do you offer maternity and cake smash photography as well?

A: Yes. I specialize in maternity, newborn, sitter sessions, cake smash, and milestone photography, offering a full-service experience for growing families.

Q: How far in advance should I book maternity photos?

A: Maternity sessions are best photographed between 28–34 weeks of pregnancy. Booking early is recommended to secure your preferred date.
